Job Summary:
Electrical superintendents are responsible for overseeing the work of their team. They ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget, while also ensuring that safety standards are met at all times
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of electrical work on the project site, including but not limited to:
• Ensure that all electrical work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of electricians and other workers engaged in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
• Plan and prepare work schedules and assignments, and estimate material and labor requirements for projects
• Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of industrial equipment installations
• Investigate complaints about electrical systems and equipment, and take corrective action or recommend solutions
• Prepare reports and maintain records on work progress, materials used, and problems encountered
• Request needed supplies and equipment, and schedule delivery to avoid delays
• Confer with general contractors, engineers, and architects to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems
• Direct and train workers in proper installation and maintenance techniques
• Perform administrative duties such as preparing work orders, maintaining time cards and writing reports
• Coordinating with other departments to ensure that electrical work is completed efficiently
• Creating a safe and secure workplace by conducting safety inspections, reviewing safety protocols, and providing training to employees on hazards in their workplaces
• Monitoring electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly and resolving issues as needed
• Maintaining a safe work environment by monitoring work progress and inspecting construction sites for hazards
• Working with architects and engineers to design electrical systems for new buildings or renovations
• Ensuring that safety regulations are followed during construction to prevent fires or electrocution hazards
• Evaluating electrical systems to determine if they are functioning properly or need repair or replacement.
Qualification and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
• Valid installation permit from ERA
• 10+ years’ experience in the electrical industry, with 5+ years in a management role
• Proven track record of successful project completion
• Thorough understanding of NEC code requirements
• • Successful candidates with relevant experience and recognized expertise in large onshore/offshore oil and gas EPC projects will be preferred.
