JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
Perform specific activities while supporting electricians during installation, repair works and maintenance.

Key, Duties and Responsibilities
• Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components such as lighting fixtures and power equipment;
• Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads;
• Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations;
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem;
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmetres, voltmeters and other electrical tools to ensure compatibility and safety of system;
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specification and local codes;
• Connect motors, control panels, starters, disconnects and test to insure efficient operation;
• Install sound systems, security systems voice and data systems and new ligthning and ceiling fans;
• Thread and conduit ends couplings and conduit fittings;
• Replace faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, and electronic components;
• Repair motors, transformers, generators and electronic controllers on machine tools and industrial robots;
• Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Required Qualifications
A Diploma in Electrical Studies.

Experience
At least 3 years working experience in electrical installations

Skills/Competences
• Working knowledge of electrical method, practices and have knowledge of the applicable buildings codes, regulations, regulations or ordinances;
• Must be physically fit;
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
• Ability to work in safe and efficient manner;
• A team player;
• Innovative and foresighted.
