JOB DETAILS:
On behalf of our client, Worley Parsons Uganda, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Engineering Regulation Consultant to work on the EACOP (East African Crude Oil Pipeline) construction project in Uganda.
Duties and Responsibilities
• The Engineering Regulation Consultant will advise on all technical matters relating to compliance with national & local laws, building regulations and standards.
• The consultant will aid engineers to address technical issues and ensure compliance.
• The consultant will also be responsible for reviewing deliverables, monitoring project compliance, and liaising with the relevant government authorities (where required)..
Qualifications and experience
• Bachelors (Hons) degree in civil/structural engineering from a formally recognized institution
• Registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) in Uganda
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience required in construction projects with a minimum of 5 years in a similar position (projects of similar scale and complexity)
• Working knowledge of national and local regulatory frameworks (laws, building regulations, guidelines, and policies)
• A strong communication, networking, collaboration, and well-developed team-working skills, especially in multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams.
• A full understanding of how all elements of the project scope integrate and interface with each other and are managed to successfully deliver the right project outcome
• A high focus on identifying and delivering the identified deliverables, which meet project expectations from a quality and performance perspective, with minimal integration challenges to current operations.
• Excellent teamwork & skills being able to work with the various sub-teams to resolve issues and reach decisions that are in the best interests of the integrated project team.
• An ability to work effectively in a diverse, multidisciplinary team environment, including Interface management experience, within facilities, and across other functions.
• Strong Team Building, Development and Mentoring skills.
• Competency within industry applications such as MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
• Demonstrated knowledge of compliance, risk controls and site HSE requirements
• Demonstrated communication skills including the ability to articulate engineering concerns and solutions with site engineers consisting of individuals with various technical and educational backgrounds.
• Previous experience working with multicultural contractors’ and reporting their performance.
• Autonomous, self-motivated, and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to change or shifting priorities
