NUCAFE; a national membership coffee-based organization with over 200 Farmer Associations, Cooperatives and Estates in Uganda is championing coffee Business Development Services in the coffee value chain to skill 5,640 young people and create 4,000 coffee value chain decent work opportunities for households in Uganda with 70% of the young people being young women.

Mastercard Foundation is partnering with the Private Sector (PSFU) NUCAFE to implement the Young Africa Works strategy by enhancing the Private Sector Employment in Uganda. The Foundation Uganda Young Africa Works strategy aims to create dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for 3,000,000 young people in Uganda by 2030.
NUCAFE is partnering with PSFU to implement the Enhancing Youth Entrepreneurial and Employability Opportunities in the Coffee Value Chain project through the Lead Firm Structure. NUCAFE will use the Lead Firm Structure approach integrated with the Farmer Ownership Model to skill at least 5,640 young people in the coffee value chain and create at least 4,000 coffee household decent work opportunities and family businesses.
Overall Intervention:
The project will champion coffee Business Development Services such as Coffee Family Business Management and Succession Planning, Farmer Organizations strengthening, production and productivity enhancement through Sustainable Coffee Intensification, financial literacy and financial access, coffee quality management, coffee barista skilling, among others.
NUCAFE invites young people between 18-35 years with passion for undertaking business activities at the various nodes of the coffee Value Chain, Coffee farmer Associations, Community Based Organizations and other Coffee supporting Businesses in the following districts; Sheema, Bushenyi, Zombo, Lira, Kapchorwa, Mbale, Masaka, Mpigi, Rakai, Kalungu, Kasese, Lwengo, Kabarole, Kisoro, Bundibugyo, Iganga, Kamuli, Mukono, Kalangala, Rukungiri, Kayunga, Wakiso, Bunyangabo, Kyenjojo, and Kampala to apply for participation in the project. .
