Responsible to: Clinical Officer/Health Facility In-charge

Job Summary:
The nurse will assess patients’ health problems or needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. She/he will assess and monitor individual need by delivering quality client care, under the supervision of the registered nurse. The position will provide guidance and support to the clients and treatment supporters ensuring confidentiality. She /he will oversee the implementation of ICCM approaches conducted by the VHTs (Village Health Teams).
• Conduct daily triaging of clients while identifying clients with emergency and referring them to the clinicians for management.
• Provide clear information to the patient and family/treatment supporter about the illness and treatment prescribed; verify understanding to ensure informed consent and adherence to treatment.
• Attend to clients and provide treatment as prescribed by the clinicians while monitoring the vital signs.
• She/he will participate in the referral process to the next level of management if needs arise.
• Provide correct information to clients to reduce their susceptibility to diseases through health education at facility level and community.
• Participate in community awareness creation and sensitization in the communities on communicable and non-communicable diseases.
• Organize in community engagements such as integrated outreaches and community dialogues.
• Capacity build and supervise the VHTs conducting integrated community case management (ICCM).
• Ensure general hygiene standards and universal precautions are followed at all times, implement and monitor actions to reduce bio-hazard risks and improve infection prevention and control.
• Keep daily tract records, compile and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Undertake any other duties that may be assigned to you by your supervisors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
The qualified candidate should have a Certificate in Comprehensive Nursing /enroll nursing from a recognizable institution, must be registered with a valid practicing license with at least:
• 2-year experience in a health care related field preferably in a refugee setting.
• Experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating health activities.
• Dedicated to provide the best patient care possible
• Promotes and upholds the privacy, dignity rights and wellbeing of clients
• Good customer care.
• Fluency in the local languages such as Kakwa, Madi, Arabic and Lugbara is preferable
• Ability and willigness to live and stay within Ofua trading centre in Rhino Camp for ease of access to the health facility
