JOB DETAILS:
Job Overview:
Support leading a proactive business enabling function that is recognized as best in class in its delivery and deployment of Environmental, Sustainability and Biodiversity methodology.  The role applies technical knowledge and skills to perform execution of the company’s expectations.  Develops knowledge of HSE Management system components with a view to supporting others to ensure compliance with these components. Demonstrates commitment to developing understanding of best practice Environmental Management techniques and liaises with wider project team to deliver positive environmental performance outcomes for the business. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Have a working knowledge of company and project-specific Environmental terms, requirements, and project deliverables
• Conversant with local and international HSES laws, codes, and regulations
• Ensure Environmental plans, procedures, and instructions are implemented
• Understand and monitor controls of environmental-related risks (e.g., aspects and impacts, ENVID) and other risk reviews
• Become familiar with the Site’s environmental legal and risk registers, conduct compliance tasks, and track corrective actions
• Assist in Environmental Prequalification of project subcontractors and vendors as applicable
• Assist with preparing and participating in conducting HSE / Environmental audits and inspections
• Participate in risk assessments and risk registries maintenance
• Prepare and maintain Environmental Activity Plans
• Prepare Environmental performance reports as directed and submit relevant reports to the HSES/Environmental Functional Lead
• Participate in Environmental training needs analysis and assist in environmental training development
• Provide Environmental input into look-ahead plans and reports based on the project schedule
• Conduct regular site or facility environmental inspections and reviews
• Competent in data collection, verification, retention, and organization for reporting and audit readiness
• Participate in environmental investigations following incidents and or non-compliance
• Assist with ensuring corrective actions and recommendations are acted upon
• Provide support for report completion

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications and Education:
• Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1-years of experience working within the construction industry ideally on major infrastructure projects and/or oil and gas, in a role primarily responsible for implementing environmental management requirements on a site.
• Experience of QHSES systems
• Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
• Analyzes information and standard practices to make judgements and find solutions to technical problems.
• Good level of computer literacy skills.
• Ability to work with and coordinate within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to work within standardized procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:
• Thorough knowledge of the National Environment (Waste Management) Regulations 2020 and the National Environment Act 2019.
• Knowledge of environmental site investigation and remediation practices, including clean-up evaluations, and technical practicability determinations.
• Has knowledge of best practices and how Environmental specialists integrate with others;
• Knowledge of best practice waste management solutions that can be implemented to minimize wastes and divert waste streams from landfill where possible in a compliant manner.
• Qualifications and experience in environmental auditing.
• Report writing skills.
