JOB DETAILS:

Job Purpose:
Our client is a financial institution in Uganda that has been in operation for several years. The bank has achieved significant growth and success in the domestic market, and is now looking for a dynamic Executive Director to lead the Bank's expansion into new markets. The Executive Director will be responsible for creating and implementing a growth strategy that will enable the bank to penetrate new markets, increase revenue and achieve sustainable profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Growth Strategies:
The Executive Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a growth strategy that will enable the bank to enter new markets, grow its customer base, increase revenue and achieve sustainable profitability. The ED will collaborate with the CEO, senior management and the Board to create a comprehensive growth plan that is aligned with the bank's strategic goals and vision.

Conduct Market Research and Analysis:
The Executive Director will conduct market research and analysis to identify new market opportunities, trends and customer needs. The ED will also keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices that will enable the bank to deliver innovative products and services to its customers.

Develop and Manage Strategic Partnerships:
The Executive Director will develop and manage strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the new markets; including regulators, government agencies, business partners and other financial institutions. The ED will also collaborate with the bank's business development team to create and execute effective marketing and sales strategies that will enable the bank to penetrate new markets.

Ensure Compliance and Risk Management:
The Executive Director will ensure that the bank's operations in the new markets comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies and risk management guidelines. The ED will work with the bank's risk and compliance teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and ensure that the bank's operations are conducted in a safe and sound manner.

Provide Leadership and Management:
The Executive Director will provide leadership and management to the bank's staff in the new markets. The ED will ensure that the bank's culture, values and standards are upheld and that the bank's employees are motivated, engaged and productive. The ED will also mentor and coach the bank's employees to enable them to develop their skills and capabilities.

Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field from a recognized institution.
2. A Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
3. At least 15 years of experience in the banking or financial services sector, with at least 5 years at a senior management level.
4. Strong knowledge of banking operations, risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements in Uganda and overseas.
5. Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of developing and leading successful teams.
6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
7. Experience in developing and executing growth strategies in new markets.
