OVERVEIW
Kalson medical services was inspired by her own patients and the need for a comforting medical care program that gives satisfaction. We are a Group of Medical Doctors with various backgrounds, experiences and expertise bonded together to optimize our patient’s needs. We also offer high quality health care services while putting our patient’s needs as the major priority.
Kalson medical services is also licensed by the GCC to do visa medicals for clients travelling to countries like Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and UAE.
JOB TITLE: FEMALE CLINICAL OFFICER
LOCATION: OLD KAMPALA, MARTIN ROAD BEHIND CITY OILUGANDA
WORK HOURS: Full-time, 08 hours per day (MONDAY-SATURDAY)

REPORTS TO: MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Job Responsibilities
• To diagnose and prescribe treatment and/or refer complicated cases in line with clinical guidelines and hygiene protocols.
• Offer information to clients, aimed at reducing their vulnerability to AIDS and other HIV related diseases and infections through health education.
• Control the rational distribution of medicine and equipment; ensure sterilization and good maintenance of medical equipment, report any malfunctioning to supervisor
• Keep the patient and family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow; verify understanding to ensure informed consent and adherence to treatment.
• Ensure data traceability by recording all medical activities on patients card and in registration books such that patient treatment is continuous
• Attend to emergency cases in the health facility.
• Participate in community mobilization and sensitization on curative and preventative health services
• Ensure general hygiene standards and universal precautions are followed at all times and implement and monitor actions to reduce bio-hazard risks and improve infection control
• Ensure ongoing training of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team in order to optimize the quality of care
• Ensure that medical decisions are made with the highest level of integrity and ethics according to professional and Kalson medical services Code of Conduct.
• Ensure direct reports have clear objectives, receive mentorship and participate in capacity building opportunities
• Conduct performance evaluations and enforce disciplinary process as per Kalson medical services policy
• Ensure data collected is accurate and submit reports according to schedule
• Other duties as assigned from the medical director.
Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Community Health or equivalent is required
• Registration with Allied Health Professionals Council is required
• Valid practicing license is required
• 1 year of clinical medicine experience is required
• Experience working with international NGOs is an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledge of primary health care, maternal and child health, reproductive health, HIV and AIDS and communicable diseases
• Knowledge of professional clinical medicine principles, procedures and techniques
• Knowledge of medicines, hygiene protocol and IPC measures
SKILLS
• Skilled in applying clinical medicine principles and procedures in the evaluation and treatment of patients
• Skilled in prescribing correct medication
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A good command of both written and spoken English
ABILITIES
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to professional code of conduct
• Ability to treat all patients and staff with respect, without prejudice
• Ability to provide high quality, ethical, compassionate care that places the needs of the patient first
• Ability to maintain detailed records with high accuracy
• Ability to be flexible and manage stress.
