Job details:

• Reports; ensure timely preparation of weekly, monthly and annual P&L reports for tracking income and expenditures.
  
• Preparation of budget forecasts with senior management.
  
• Cost management; ensure the most efficient management of expenses and purchases.
  
• Petty cash management
  
• Ensure financial controls, systems and procedures are in place to ensure risks/losses are averted and or minimized by the company.
  
• Tax declaration & filing; preparation and filing of statutory returns and payments (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, LST, WHT and other applicable taxes), while ensuring that there is sufficient cash to meet these statutory obligations.
  
• URA Payments; processing URA payments and answerable to their officials on tax inquiries.
  
• Financial audit; assure accuracy of supporting documentation and entries for accounts reporting
  
• Entry records; maintain journal entries of all transfers (cash and bank)
  
• Bank transactions; make necessary bank transactions in a timely and cost effective manner
  
• Prepare payment vouchers and cheques, ensuring they are distributed to the correct recipients.
  
• Resolve any discrepancies or clarification for accounting records.
  
• Organize and maintain accounting filing system
  
• Reconcile travel and activity advances
  
• Review invoice accuracy
  
• Accuracy of fixed assets in the system and on ground, control of misuse, theft of Company assets, ensures optimal utilization of assets.
  

Key Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelors' degree in Business Administration (Accounting), Commerce (Accounting) or Economics.
  
• Must have CPA/ACCA.
  
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an accountant (not an auditor) for a private or public organization.
  

Knowledge & Skills

• Flexible enough to adopt to the fast pace of a startup/work under pressure/ work without constant supervision and self-motivation and must have the ability to work well independently and in groups while executing of his/her duties
  
• Manage and train a team
  
• Provide strategic input when needed/ pay keen attention to detail
  
• Good/proficient Microsoft excel skills
  
• Having knowledge about the sports betting industry is an added advantage.
