Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Tasked with the day-to-day financial management and financial transactions including full reconciliation of all accounts.
• Responsible for cash forecasting.
• Budget setting and budget management including reporting to all departments.
• Setting and managing the overheads of the Ugandan branch.
• Recording, analysing and reporting on all financial information.
• Recommending changes and areas of savings
• Supporting all staff to understand how to manage their budgets and provide good financial information.
• Carrying out audits from time to time.
• Ensure that BV works to highest level of probity and financial standards.
• Assisting the loans department to set up and manage their loan books.
• Analysing loans data.
• Working with the UK finance manager to ensure that systems and processes are complimentary.
• All regulatory returns.
• Responsible for the payment of salaries and taxes.
• Perform any other responsibilities or tasks as requested by the UK Finance Manager and In-country Manager commensurate with the level of the post.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The ideal candidate for the Balloon Ventures Finance Officer job placement should preferably hold an accounting qualification.
• Proficiency in Excel spreadsheet. All financial transactions are done using Excel spread sheets and a variety of bank accounts and mobile money accounts.
• At least two years of relevant experience in a medium size business.
• Ability to work accurately and methodically.
• High numeracy skills.
• Good analysis of information.
• Ability to communicate well.
• Personable.
• Honest and trustworthy.
