JOB DETAILS:
Basic Needs UK in Uganda (BNUU) is a National Organization committed to supporting access to quality Mental Health Services in Uganda through in service training of health workers, research, advocacy and raising awareness about mental health issues in communities. With funding from Comic Relief through Network for Africa, BNUU is implementing a 3 years community mental health and development project in Agago District to strengthen mental health service delivery in the District. BNUU therefore seeks to recruit competent and qualified candidate to fill in the following positions. .

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implement appropriate accounting/organizational systems/procedures (internal checks and controls) to address and secure the needs of BNUU programs
• Prepare, records and keep accurate books of accounts/records as per international accounting standards (IAS)
• Collects and summaries accounting/financial data into management information/reports to programs and management
• Production of regular, accurate, timely and reliable financial and admin reports/information to management and or donors
• Proactively be a resource to management and programs on finance, systems, operational activities, and strategic financial management of BNUU
• Assist management in implementing resources policies– human, financial, assets, office equipment, stores etc
• Ensure that audits are conducted according to procedure and approval
• Work with and support programs/projects staff to develop mutually beneficial partnerships

Job requirements:
• The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, and preferably with a professional qualification i.e. CPA / ACCA (level II)
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant working experience (supervision management level, working in diverse teams)
• Proven management capacity
Knowledge and skills:
• Application of theory and management models related to Accounting and financial management.
• Management skills (proactive, supportive, planning and highly organized, flexible)
• Good book keeping applications
• Use of accounting software like QuickBooks
• Highly analytical in his/ her specialization
• Coaching
• Attention to detail
• Supervision of human resources
• Stores management

• Computer literacy skills
