Purpose of the Position:
Responsible for the accuracy of management reports, budgets and forecasts, and financial planning for the MultiChoice Uganda business including any regional entities domiciled in country. Support the Country leadership team in analysing and improving financial results. The role includes performance of strategic and operational business cases to support group executives’ decision making and being the finance business partner on strategic projects in the country.

Key Performance Objectives
Tasks

Perform Financial Planning and Analysis
• Manage and execute the target setting, budget and forecast processes for MultiChoice entities in-country including any regional entities domiciled in country and ensure it aligns with the country objectives.
• Attend regular and adhoc finance, sales and operational meetings for results reviews.
• Prepare together with the Treasury Manager and submit 24-month Treasury cash flow forecasts for all MultiChoice entities in country including any regional entities domiciled in country.
• Prepare and submit 24-month rolling forecasts of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statement for MultiChoice entities in country including any regional entities domiciled in country.
• Prepare & Submit monthly reporting pack (including financial performance and variance analyses of actuals against plans, forecasts, prior periods) for MultiChoice entities in country including any regional entities domiciled in country.
• Prepare country performance reporting for monthly and year to date results against budget and forecasts.
• Drive and contribute to relevant Finance and Technology projects.
• Business Partner
• Provide meaningful ad hoc financial analysis as required.
• Proactively partner with the business to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve bottom line business performance and ensure that change initiatives are implemented.
• Financial Accountability and Oversight
• Accountable for GL Integrity management for the in-country entities including regional entities domiciled in country (Governance).
• Working with FSS to close the month end reporting activities
• With the FSS, manage the interim and year end external audit for Multichoice entities within the territory.
• Responsible for maintaining an appropriate internal control environment around the financial reporting and close process in accordance with applicable provisions of MAL Policies.
• Co-ordinate interim and year-end audits with the Finance Shared Services Team
• Conduct monthly finance reviews on Balance sheet integrity & controls.
• Tax Accounting.
• Medical Aid Administration
• Decoder costing, distribution and inventory control, including all stock management
• Consult with Shared Services Central Accounting team, MAL Corporate and Country teams to resolve Intercompany Disputes/Queries.
• Implement and drive review processes that impact the integrity of the trial balance to improve the quality of reporting from a technical stand point.
• Management of any services delivered from Shared Services.
• Any other tasks as maybe informed by the Country Head of Finance.

• Qualifications
• Must be a CA or Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Administration Accounting with a CPA Qualification

• Experience / Skills
• Has about 6 years of experience (Accounting, Finance or Business Administration);
• Africa experience key
• Knowledge of transfer pricing and withholding tax
