Job Summary:
The GSD Officer will be responsible for assisting the GSD Activity Coordinator in the daily operations and execution of the gender and sexual diversity training activity. This position will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth implementation of GSD training programs, capacity-building activities, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support in Training & Workshops: Assist in organizing, executing, and monitoring GSD training sessions, workshops, and capacity-building exercises.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with relevant stakeholders, including healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and key populations, ensuring their active participation and feedback in the GSD initiative.
• Resource Management: Help in the preparation, distribution, and inventory of training materials, manuals, and other essential resources.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Assist in tracking the progress of training sessions, gathering feedback, and preparing detailed reports for review by the GSD Activity Coordinator and other senior stakeholders.
• Data Management: Aid in the collection, storage, and analysis of data related to the training sessions, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded and readily accessible.
• Communications & Outreach: Support in developing communication materials, newsletters, and other outreach materials to promote GSD initiatives and ensure widespread awareness.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies, Environmental Health, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working on gender and sexual diversity projects or related fields.
• Strong understanding of the HIV/AIDS landscape in Uganda, especially concerning key populations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in assisting with training programs, workshops, or capacity-building exercises.
• Familiarity with data management and basic analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the socio-political landscape in Uganda, especially concerning gender and sexual diversity issues.
