JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
The General Accountant will be managing the accounting function, controls, management of resources, and preparation of timely financial reports in line with the generally acceptable accounting principles.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure the proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions,
• Extraction of monthly trial balance
• Regular updates of income stream through account reconciliations
• In charge of maintaining and improving internal controls of revenue and costs,
• Updating and maintaining financial records
• Preparation and submission of monthly and annual financial reports and explaining variances to budget.
• Assisting in the formulation and in the overall preparation of budgets and forecasts,
• Dealing with all compliance matters relating to tax and other statutory matters related to the finance function,
• Providing supervision, guidance and mentoring to the team
• Managing all aspects of banking including daily and monthly cash flow management
• Updating and maintaining records of fixed assets and controlling capital expenditure
• Efficiently managing and responding to internal and statutory audits
• Regular monitoring of company working advances to ensure that they are recovered within the stipulated period.
• Verification and filing of all documents related to accounts receivables in the finance department.
• Reconciling the cashbook e.g., on monthly basis for prudent reporting
• Doing bank reconciliation and updating management as may be required from time to time.
• Responsible for Issuing of Proforma invoices and all claims on a timely basis and ensure they have gone through the relevant approval process and within agreed service levels and ensure they are duly recorded in the correct entity.
• Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• The ideal candidate for the General Accountant role should hold a University Degree in a relevant accounting field.
• CPA or ACCA Qualification is a plus
• A minimum of 3 years accounting experience preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Familiar with accounting software particularly QuickBooks
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
