JOB DETAILS:
Expectation
General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily business activities, improving overal business functions, training heads of departments, managing budgets, developing strategic plans, creating policies and communicating business goals. Also, the GM will be responsible for improving efficiency and increasing departmental profits while managing the company's overall operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Incharge of 3 properties in Uganda to inspire and motivate the teams and oversee their daily operations.
• Developing and implementing growth strategies.
• Drive the broader goals of the company,interms of the lodge, by planning and implementing Strategic Management plans.
• Be passionate about hospitality, keen interest and proven success in sustainability, conservation and ccommunity development.
• Create and manage budgets
• Evaluate performance and productivity
• Researching and identying growth opportunities
• Generating reports and giving presentations
• Management and training of the lodge staff in line with the company standards
• Ensure ultimate guest relations in the lodge
• Enhance guest experience and improving revenue
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and maintainance and ensure that they align with the company profile.
• Assist the Camp and Lodge Managers during cycle leave and perform all duties relevant to this position.
• Assist in setting up correcct stock handling, counting and issuing procedures.
• Assist Operations Manager with Ad hoc projects.
• Assist with capex requirements for the properties
• Performing other duties requested by the CEO
QUALIFICATIONS
• Have proven experience as General Manager in a similar set up
• Excellent Interpersonal skills and ability to upskill a majority of unskilled workforce from our local communities
• Experience in CSR projects
• Minimum of 4 years experience in Senior Lodge Management( 5 - star luxury establishment will be an added advantage)
• Up to date with the emerging trends in the food and lodge industries and hospitality industry in general
• Exellent communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Good financial acumen
