JOB DETAILS:
Knowledge, Skills & Competences
• Ability to commit to and work within the aims, principles and policies.
• Understanding of the financial services sector and, in particular, knowledge of the strategic and policy environment in which the financial services sector operates;
• Proven ability to devise and implement strategic plans, and manage their implementation, particularly in the areas of financial services, business development, marketing and sales, staff development and the management of change;

• Capability of influencing external change and the ability to earn and maintain the trust of those people with whom the business deals;
• Ability to manage agile service provision from several locations and shared facilities;

• Ability to lead and contribute to a team, including the ability to prioritise, implement and complete work in a timely manner,

Responsibilities
Job Purpose
• Maintain the effective operation, overseeing all departments and functions such as financial management, business development, human resource, ICT, responding to client needs and external challenges.
• Oversee the delivery of quality services from all lines of service, ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards.
• Promote common policies and practices to enhance business development and support service delivery.

Key duties and responsibilities
Planning and development
• In conjunction with the Board of Directors, develop, implement and monitor the strategic business plans;
• Translate organisational objectives into team and individual work plans with clear and realistic targets;
• Maintain an awareness of the operating environment such as legislative developments, social trends and local needs likely to affect demand for services, and opportunities for service delivery;
• Support the development of IT and other resource plans and strategies;
• Participate in initiatives as appropriate and contribute/support the Board and its sub committees to plan and function effectively;

Supporting the Board of Directors
• Arrange and attend meetings of the Board of Directors, including the Annual General Meeting and any Special/General Meetings;
• Advise the Board of Directors on financial, staffing and service delivery issues and on compliance policies and all other relevant legislation, e.g. company law, health and safety, employment, property, land etc.
• Report to the Board of Directors on progress against the business plan and agreed objectives
• Prepare and draft Semi Annual and Annual reports

Service delivery
• Maintain an awareness of organisational and technological developments and ensure that services are delivered in ways which promote mobility and agility to respond to client demand and makes best possible use of the resources available;
• Ensure that each line of service is adequately managed and resourced (human, physical and financial);
• Develop and maintain common practices to ensure that standards of service delivery are met and appropriate systems are in place for staff supervision, transaction recording, statistics, follow-up work and quality control;

Financial management
Oversee financial management by ensuring that:
• The day-to-day financial controls of the business are complied with; expenditures are within the agreed budget; finances are properly managed and monitored, and that appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and in use at all times;
• Detailed budgets are prepared, reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors;
• Regular reports are made to the Board of Directors on income and expenditure, offering detailed explanations where performance differs from target; and financial statements are approved by the BoD and audited in time by the external auditors;

Staff management
• Create a positive working environment in which equity, equality and diversity are well-managed, dignity at work is upheld and staff can do their best;
• Ensure effective performance management and development of all staff, through regular supervision sessions and the appraisal process
• Regularly ensure that staff learning and development needs are identified, evaluated and met in accordance with company standards;
• Ensure that each member of staff has a learning and development plan;
• Convene and chair regular meetings of the management team;
• Establish, implement and monitor recruitment, induction and staff development policy and procedures in conjunction with the appropriate BoD sub-committee;

Public relations and research and campaigns
• Promote and protect the aims, principles, values, policies, interests and reputation and ensure that the company has a high profile at all times;
• Develop and oversee appropriate publicity through effective public relations with the media and other appropriate authorities, agencies, organisations and individuals in the public and private sector;

Administration
• Establish, maintain and monitor effective administrative policies, systems and complaints procedures in accordance with best practice;
• Ensure that the capacity (human, physical and financial) of the business is adequately met and fully utilised to effectively deliver the Company services;
• Ensure that health and safety policies and procedures for staff, premises and equipment are agreed and maintained, and comply with statutory requirements;
• Undertake any other duties as may be prescribed by the BoDs from time to time.

Qualifications
• Honours Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Financial Services, Economics, Statistics or any other related field from a recognised university/institution
• Post graduate training in financial services management, business administration, accounting, financial management or any other related field from a recognised institution
• Membership of a professional financial management, accounting or banking institutions will be an added advantage;

Details of experience
• At least 8 years working experience, 5 of which should have been served at Managerial or above level in a reputable organisation, preferably a financial services provider.
