JOB DETAILS:
On behalf of our client, we seek to recruit a highly competent, hardworking and motivated individual to fill the position of Human Resource Manager. The HR Manager will assist in the overall performance of the culture of the company in relation to the staff and develop new strategies to improve and align with the overall business strategy
Job Description
The HR Manager position is a full-time, in-country position based at the company head office in Kampala and reporting to the Managing Director. The core responsibilities include:
• Work to improve company culture throughout all branches
• Support junior staff and managers on 1v1 basis in professional development
• Carry out routine trainings on company policies and expectations
• Develop and implement strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
• Manage the recruitment process and hired recruitment firms for new candidates
• Coordinate submission of payroll
• Manage employee files and benefits programs
• Work with company advocates to ensure complete compliance with labor laws and policies
• Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
• Coordinate onboarding and handover activities
• Draft and issue formal letters for employees on performance and contract issues
• Track and report on staff leave and attendance across all offices
• Support managers to implement performance review and management strategies including monthly check-ins with all key personnel
• Coordinate team building exercises for each office
• Monthly travel to each branch
In addition to these responsibilities, all employees are encouraged to propose programs, strategies or experiments which they feel offer a promising avenue for improvements to the company or livelihoods of the farmers.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from reputable university in related field
• Post Graduate Diploma in Human resource management is a must
• Prior experience in administrative, human resources, office management or secretarial skills
• High degree of organization and communication skills
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Ability and willingness to learn on the job
• Outgoing personality with an interest in quality products made in Africa
• Positive attitude and sense of humor
