JOB DETAILS:

Experience and Other requirements: Experience
• 10 years, at least three of which at Principal Officer level.

Other Requirements:

Qualifications:
• An Honors’ Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Business Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Population Studies, BSc. Statistics and Economics or relevant field.
• Master’s Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Population Studies or Economics
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration & Management or relevant field will be added advantage
• Member of the Uganda Statistical Society is a must.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Spearhead annual risk & compliance assessment, and data quality assurance on statistical data.
• Spearhead quarterly M&E activities and produce reports.
• Undertake annual data production needs assessments and statistical capacity needs assessments.
• Develop the department’s annual work plan, procurement, training and recruitment plans.
• Manage staff in the department, conduct performance appraisals, as well as identify training and development needs.
• Participate in the training of departmental staff in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Prepare and submit accountability for financial resources.
• Prepare and submit Departmental performance reports on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
• Develop junior colleagues through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments, and establishing performance & development plans.
• Perform any other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
