JOB DETAILS:
The Head of IT will provide strategic leadership by managing and evaluating innovative technologies and applications in accordance with the best IT principles, policies, and procedures to minimize security risks, improve customer service and ensure the Bank achieves its business objectives.
The successful candidate should demonstrate detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices with a professional track record of leading teams, technical management, information analysis, a thorough understanding of computer hardware and software and the role ICT in driving and delivering business growth objectives. The Head of IT will report to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a business plan, objectives, activities, and budget for the IT function considering the strategic objectives and operational priorities.
• Lead the development and implementation processes for the Bank’s IT systems to drive business growth and effectiveness.
• Identify IT requirements and ensure that the IT function and activities are fully resourced, budgeted for and their performance managed to adequately support the business strategy and respond to business needs, maximizing return on investment.
• Oversee the documentation and application of sound and up to date IT principles, ensuring compliance with local banking and finance legislation, regulation, policies, and procedures.
• Establish and set quality service standards to respond to internal and external client inquiries and requests.
• Oversee the annual IT budget and ensure cost effectiveness.
• Develop, test, and implement IT Disaster Recovery plans, policies, and procedures to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
• Analyze the IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
• Ensure a productive IT team with the right behavior, skill, and experience to deliver the IT functions through training, communicating job expectations, monitoring performance and coaching for growth.

• Experience with computer networks, network/system administration, and network installation.

Education And Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science. An MBA will be an added advantage
• Full certification in ITIL, CCNA Security, CCNA, MCP, N+, ICDL and digital transformation technologies and other relevant qualifications.
• At least ten (10) years relevant experience managing an IT department.
• Experience working within high growth organizations and applying technology to solve business problems
