JOB DETAILS:
BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd launched on 25 April 2019 and attained its current status of a Tier II Credit institution following a successful background as the leading Microfinance services provider in Uganda. The Bank operates 32 regulated branches and 130 satellite offices covering 84 districts in Uganda targeting Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs. BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd promotes financial inclusion by extending financial services to un served and under served populations, especially women and youth as well as people living in poverty in rural areas. To enable us serve our customers better, we are seeking to fill the following vacancy.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES.
• Generate audit charter, Internal Audit annual work plans, Internal Audit policies and Procedure manuals.
• Managing and coordinating the BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd Audit Function and ensure there is effective communication between the Audit and all other stakeholders.
• Preparing and submitting Internal Audit reports to Board and management.
• Evaluating and reviewing Financial Accounting and Operational performance of the Institution and all the departments, functions, and advice on improvements
• Carrying out special Audit assignments.
• Evaluating risk management processes, and internal controls and recommend areas of improvements
• Review all institutional policies and advise on areas of improvement.
• Carrying out inspection, performance audits, and value-for- money assessments.
• Obtain analyze, evaluate accounting documentation and reliability of the reports.
• Lead, guide, supervise, motivate, discipline, train, build capacity and manage Performance of all staff in the audit department
• Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding the sector rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
PROFESSIONAL DEGREE/CERTIFICATION:
• Full professional qualification in Accounting or Auditing from a recognized institution plus a minimum of a post- graduate Diploma in Financial management or Auditing or Business Administration from a recognized institution. A member of the recognized Audit body

EXPERIENCE
• At least 8 years of Audit experience in regulated Financial Institutions preferably Credit Institution (Tier 2) and above of which at least 5 years at the level of manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
• Proven working experience as Internal Auditor/ Audit manager
• Proven knowledge of auditing standards, procedures,
• laws, rules, regulations, and best practices.
• Proven knowledge of financial sector regulations and industry trends
• Extensive computer skills including MS Office, advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, and Visio.
• High attention to detail, excellent analytical and planning skills and sound independent judgment
• Knowledge of Accounting, various core banking, HR and Payroll applications
Ability to work in a multidimensional/multicultural setting and Good communication skills
