JOB PURPOSE
The Head of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) will lead the development and implementation of robust M&E systems that support strategic decision-making, adaptive programming, and meaningful communication of impact. This role is ideal for a systems-oriented thinker who is passionate about using data to improve educational outcomes and strengthen peacebuilding initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of M&E will play a critical role in embedding a culture of learning and evidence-based practice across the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive M&E framework across all Education Bridge programs.
- Develop and maintain data collection systems and tools that are accessible, reliable, and useful for program teams and leadership.
- Train and support school-level staff and program managers in data collection, entry, and interpretation.
- Conduct regular analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to assess program performance and outcomes.
- Work with senior leadership to ensure data insights inform strategy development, operational decisions, and program adaptation.
- Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Lead to translate data into compelling impact stories and reports.
- Produce high-quality internal and external reports, including dashboards, evaluation summaries, and learning briefs.
- Ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance with ethical research and evaluation standards.
- Lead periodic evaluations and oversee external evaluations or research partnerships as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for an M&E capacity-building program delivered by one of Education Bridge’s major funders, receiving targeted training and support as part of the organization’s institutional strengthening strategy.
EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Advanced degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Education, Public Policy, Statistics, International Development, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in M&E, preferably in education, youth development, or conflict-affected contexts.
- Demonstrated expertise in both qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Stata, or Power BI).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Experience building M&E systems from the ground up and leading organization-wide learning initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly to field sites in South Sudan.
- Commitment to professional development and organizational learning; openness to mentorship and external training.
