POSITION PURPOSE
The HTD is responsible for creating premium teaching opportunities and experiences for our Teachers. Developing a program that attracts and retains the best teachers that Uganda has to offer. Employing the expertise of COF Education Personnel, Ministry Professional development offerings, and securing the best training providers in Uganda. The HTD will lead our teachers into new and exciting learning and teaching Pedagogy. The HTD will support the SUITS Fraternity (Southern Uganda Inspirational Teachers
Society) provide a challenging, innovative opportunity for the HTD to support empowerment of teachers around decisions relating to their professional, personal, social and financial development. Furthermore the HTD will offer support/advisory services to the SUITS board, monitoring the road map, managing both launch and post launch events. In collaboration with the COF Education team, the HTD will be responsible for the set up and functioning of an elite Teacher Mentoring project supporting literacy enhancement and is designed to inspire and elevate expectations and performance in our most gifted teachers.
The HTD will also have an oversight role of the teacher tutors (Primary Teacher Colleges, Centre Co-ordinating Tutors/Expert teachers and Education mentors).He or she will provide ongoing support to teachers on curriculum interpretation and application. Spearhead conducting the annual teachers’ census, data collection and draw lessons for future interventions.
He or she must be conversant with Teacher education policies and has experience in developing school support mechanisms on learning and teaching components of the Quality Education Model. This role reports to the Education Program Manager, the HTD will fulfill an agreed obligation to school visitations; presenting equal opportunity to all COFU schools.

The candidate must be able to travel and live in the field locations in the rural areas of Southern Uganda
