About Us
The Insurance Institute of Uganda (IIU) was established in 1964 as the training arm of the insurance sector with a mandate to carry-out education, training and professional development. It is the representative professional body under the law.

IIU invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for the position of:

Head of Training
This is a management position and the holder will be reporting to the CEO.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational direction for the training department
  
• Draw up the annual budgets, work plans and forecasts for the department.
  
• Provide strategic Training and research related l advice to management and GC on key decisions taken by the institute.
  
• Participate in the development and implementation of the institute policies, procedures and guidelines i
  
• Promote the training and certification of licensed l insurance professionals
  
• Carry-out research that leads to development of l professional insurance products and services
  
• Designing, planning, organizing and A communicating trainings, course scheduling, workshops and seminars for members
  
• Monitoring and managing the quality of teaching and ensuring availability of logistical requirements for all study centers
  
• Managing the development oftraining materials as perthe curriculum requirements
  
• Soliciting for consultancies for the Institute it. Responsible for selecting, developing and retaining the right Human Resources forthe department.
  
• Drawing up a training and development plan for the department and ensure that the capacities of the department team are developed to meet the objectives of the Institute

Required skills and level of education:

• A degree in Business, Education or related field
  
• Master’s Degree in Business, Education Management or related field
  
• Professional qualification in insurance is Desirable

Work Experience:

• At least 5 years in teaching and research with 3 years’ experience at managerial level
  
• Strategic and leadership skills.
  
• Excellent oral & written communication skills.
