JOB TITLE: Health Tutors (Nursing & Midwifery)
REF : JICHS-003NR-02-2019
AGE : Above 23 years old.
JOB PURPOSE:
To impart technical knowledge and skills to the trainees by instructing and supervising them during class work, demonstrations, practical and field work sessions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares schemes of work and lesson planes for lectures, to teach and assess students on specific course units of study according to the set timetable; Participates in setting, administering and marking course work and both practical and theory examinations; Participates in both internal and external/national examinations activities; Prepares and selects appropriate instructional materials and skills laboratory equipment; to instill discipline among the trainees; to coordinate and supervise co-curricular activities; to guide and counsel students/trainees; to carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
EITHER: A minimum of a Diploma in Midwifery or Nursing or both with a qualification in Medical Education or Health Tutorship; OR: A Minimum of a Diploma in Medical Education with a Diploma in Nursing or Midwifery or both at Registration level. The above qualification must be from recognized and accredited Institution(s) of learning. The education/tutorship qualification must be recognized by the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports. All the applicants must have a valid practicing license issued/or certified by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC), with all the above mentioned qualifications Registered by the UNMC.
Teaching Experience in reputable Educational Institutions is an added advantage, but not a must.
