Key Duties And Responsibilities
• Assess current and future sta¬ / HR business needs, and design appropriate HR & Organizational Design strategies, plans, and interventions to ensure that the Department and ultimately the Bank is appropriately resourced in line with the overall business strategy.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure proper orientation and induction of new sta¬; Support all new joiners to be properly integrated into the organization and their roles.
• Drive organizational change initiatives by ensuring that appropriate structures, processes are in place in line with the growth strategies of the Bank.
• Ensure that all sta¬ have signed o¬ job descriptions and have aligned on the Key
• Performance Indicators with their respective line managers.
• Evaluate the Bank’s existing talent pool and develop interventions to e¬ectively and e¬iciently manage the talent to support the delivery of business requirements in line with the Bank’s Talent Management policy/framework.
• Drive a high-performance culture in the unit/department that you are supporting.
• Review sta¬ productivity and engage the respective Line Managers; Align sta¬ to the expected performance standards and engage respective line managers on corrective and collective interventions.
• Drive the sta¬ engagement agenda of the Bank at all levels of the employment cycle and liaise with various stakeholders to address areas of concern.
• Advise all employees on HR policies and legislation which concern them, e.g.,conditions of service, government legislation, Code of Conduct and policies and procedures.
• Identify training needs for the respective units/departments with support from the Learning & Development function and engage line managers on development of career maps and learning paths for job families in those units.
• Develop and support Implementation of retention strategies to enable the Bank to retain its critical talent. Monitor and report on workforce turnover and succession planning.
• Support Heads of department and line managers to develop succession plan, identify talent and recommend initiatives to close talent gaps.
• Analyse trends and prepare analytical periodical reports in partnership with HR shared services in order develop and implement customer centric solutions, programs, and policies to drive Bank performance and e¬iciency.
• Periodic visits to departments/Branches with the aim of participating in departmental meetings and providing technical support/advice on Human
• Resources challenges facing the business units.
Financial Responsibilities
• Structure and implement productive workforce plans within budgeted cost, thus attaining a desired profit per head ratio against the defined strategy roadmap.
• Manage the success of Human Resources financial strategies of the assigned divisions and/or departments. Monitor the approved sta¬ costs and head count budget of the assigned divisions and/or departments to ensure it remains within the approved limit.
• The HRBP is responsible for delivering the Human Capital agenda in the assigned unit or department in alignment with the Department’s objectives as well as the Bank’s overall strategy. The role holder will serve as the initial point of contact and shall provide HR advisory services for department heads as well as employees on all HR matters with a keen focus on the unit’s talent resourcing, talent development& retention, reward, performance management, succession planning, employment relations, as well as learning & development practices.
Minimum Education Qualification:
• Bachelor of Human Resources Management, Organisational and Industrial psychology, or related field.
• Possession of a Certified HR qualification, PGD HRM or Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Work Experience:
• At least 5 years of proven experience in human resource management with a deep understanding of the core functions.
• Sound Understanding of Ugandan labour laws, employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Extensive knowledge in technical HR facets and emerging HR trends. Good knowledge of the Banking industry and appreciation of its operations.

• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is deemed essential.
• Project management: Strong project management skills like organization and time management are essential.

• A sense of ownership and pride in performance and its impact on the company’s success.
• Sound leadership and problem solving capabilities.
• Must be a person of impeccable integrity.
