Engineering Ministries International (EMI) Uganda is seeking to recruit an HR Manager to join our diverse, multi-disciplinary team in Kajjansi as we seek to partner with God to bring restoration to the world through design and construction. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong desire to walk in step with Jesus, to collaborate, and to learn.

EMI is a Christian non-profit made up of architects, engineers, surveyors, and construction managers. Our mission is to develop people, design structures, and construct facilities which serve communities and the Church. Together, we are designing a world of hope.
Required qualifications and experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in human resource management or related field
• Practical and progressive HR management experience (5+ years preferred)
• Thorough understanding of HR practices, employment law and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Cross cultural work experience
• HR certification (is a plus)
Required basic qualities
• Vibrant Christian faith
• High integrity and ethics
• Cross-cultural work experience
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Ability to initiate and complete assignments with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication in English, organisational skills and detail
• Ability to facilitate trainings
Primary Responsibilities:
• Driving Organisation’s HR strategies
• Oversee HR functions
• Collaborate with other departments, staff and other EMI offices on various HR matters
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Coordinate the organisation’s internship cyclical program
• Manage training and development opportunities
• Manage compensation and benefit programs
• Compile and analyse HR data for insight and trends for decision making
