JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
The ICT Officer is a member of the cross-continental Strategy and Program Impact team. He/she is directly responsible for strengthening the Organization’s IT framework and systems to ensure program effectiveness, efficiency, relevance and sustainability. The ICT officer will report to the Communications & I.T Officer and should be available to make frequent travels to South Sudan as may be required. He/she will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading and managing software, hardware and networks, diagnose and resolve problems quickly and have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. The I.T officer will ensure that the company’s technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ICT Infrastructure Management:
• Maintain and oversee the organization’s ICT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and AV systems.
• Ensure the smooth operation of work stations, and peripheral devices.
• Monitor network performance and security to prevent potential issues or breaches.
• Hardware setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Internet connectivity, speed, and troubleshooting
• Maintain up-to-date hardware and peripheral inventory including type, serial numbers, location, etc
Software and Application Support:
• Provide technical support for software applications used within the organization, troubleshooting issues and resolving user problems.
• Coordinate software updates, patches, and installations to keep systems up-to-date and secure.
• Security protocols and end-user training
ICT Training and Capacity Building:
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance staff’s ICT skills, knowledge and security protocals.
• Develop training materials and resources tailored to different skill levels and job roles.
• Offer ongoing support and guidance to staff to promote ICT proficiency and confidence.
• AV setup, maintenance, and end-user training and support
• Manage end-user “Help Desk” to facilitate efficient use of IT assets
ICT Strategic Planning and Development:
• Collaborate with Communications and IT Manager to develop and implement ICT strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Identify, assess and present opportunities for ICT improvements and innovation to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends, recommending relevant ICT solutions to meet organizational needs.
• This position requires a proactive individual with excellent technical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to supporting the mission and values of LEAD4Africa.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or the related
• 3+ years of experience in IT support or operations
• Experience or familiarity with ERP systems and database management is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of end-user software, hardware, and applications.
Added Advantages:
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Proficiency use of MS Office 365 management
• Expert in IOS and Windows Desktop Operating Systems
• Good understanding of IT service management practices and tools based on ITIL.
