JOB DETAILS:
IPC Officer
Job Summary

The incumbent will work with MoH and provide TA to districts to strengthen IPC procedures and practices for the containment of EVD and other public health threats. S/he will be responsible for supporting the implementation of EVD Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)/WASH activities in high-risk districts. S/he will also ensure that the learning from implementation science is incorporated into the programme design.

Overall Responsibilities
• Provide guidance and relevant technical assistance to districts and other stakeholders and ensure IPC priorities and activities are effectively implemented within the overall EVD response and in compliance with the national guidelines
• Assist in planning and executing assessments in health care facilities, preparing program reports and developing of IPC/WASH-related action plans and strengthening capacity for Emergency response
• Support/facilitate health facility level IPC/WASH on-the-job orientations, with follow on supportive supervision, mentorship and corrective actions, to ensure improve existing procedures and practices
• Coordinate with other district partners to ensure that IPC activities are coordinated among the different stakeholders
• Ensure facilities have updated IPC documents and guidelines
• Develop systems for the Analysis, interpretation, and use of IPC/WASH surveillance data to inform the response and provide ongoing technical support for IPC/WASH Data collection, analysis and use
• Produce regular reports on the progress of IPC/WASH implementation
• Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the IPC manager

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine. Bachelors’ degree in Medicine and Surgery, Nursing and Masters in Public Health will be an added advantage
2. At least 3 years of experience in implementing and monitoring IPC/WASH practices at the national/district level
• 3 Years Relevant Experience
