JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: IT Consultant
Reports to: Director
Location: Kampala.
About the Company
Our Client in the business sector wishes to hire a competent and capable candidate to fill the role of an IT Consultant. The incumbent will evaluate the Company’s IT systems, analyse, diagonise the infrastructure, understand the business needs, design and implement technology solutions that meet the Company’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
• Implement technological solutions to solve business problems, create schedules for analysis, test the technology and work with in house technical teams for consistency.
• Communicate technical instructions in understandable business terms to produce technical user manuals.
• Analyse the IT systems, infrastructure and determine security threats.
• Diagonise IT systems, problems, inefficiencies and weakneses.
• Plan timelines for project completion
• Provide advise on technological best practices
• Train staff in using new IT systems and monitor /evaluate the progree and success of the IT solutions
• Produce routine detailed reports on the efficacy of the IT software/technology systems along with recommendations.
• Gain indepth understanding of the requirement and business objectives
• Revise existing systems and suggest improvements
• Plan and design IT systems and networks
• Oversee and cordinate the implementation of new technology and serve as a subject matter expert.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Msc/MBA in Computer Science, IT is key.
• Bsc in Computer Science. IT or any other closely related field.
• Professional Certification ie COMPTIA A+ is essential.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
• 4-5 years working as an IT technician/consultant in a busy and dynamic environment is a must.
• Experience in IT project management is key
• Proficiency with database/ IT languages/Software packages ie Amber tools, ADF, Visio, et..al.. is mandatory.
• Experience in project management is key, trouble shooting hardware, software & network issues.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
