JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
To maintain MVR computer networks, providing technical support, installation and configuration of hardware and software, and solving technical problems as they arise.

Key Duties:
• Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
• Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
• Respond in a timely manner to IT service issues and requests.
• Providing technical support across the MVR Operations (this may be in person or over the phone)
• Set up user accounts for new users and educate them on log in and resolve issues arising.
• Maintain and troubleshoot all network and computer related issues.
• Integrate security, physical control solutions for all confidential data and systems.
• Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users.
• Troubleshoot and repair of hardware, operating systems, and applications.
• Identify security gaps and provide relevant solutions in consultation with the Head of IT
• Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
• Enhance office IT system through appropriate upgrades and advise management on required improvements.
• Provide overall IT administrative support.
• Maintain records of software licenses

Person Specifications:
Essential Requirements
• Bachelors in information technology or a relevant field.
• At least 3 years of experience providing information communications technology Knowledge of Information Technology services management frameworks, Information Communication Policy, IT procedures, National Information Technology Act 2009, Uganda Communications Act 2013, Computer Misuse Act 2011.
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing.
• Desirable Requirements
• Knowledge of systems engineering, computer maintenance, server administration, installation, repair and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of computer networking, LAN, WLAN installation, configuration, troubleshooting
• Training in Disaster Recovery Management
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification.
• S/he should have experience in managing a large and complex IT Operations.
