JOB DETAILS:

We are looking for a creative, agile and result driven individual to fill the position of
Reports to: Head of Information and Technology.

Job Purpose:
This role will be responsible for protecting Opportunity Bank’s information assets such as IT infrastructure, edge devices, networks, and data against internal and external attacks. S/he will be responsible for preventing unauthorized access and attacks on IT assets and will work closely with business and other stakeholders within the Bank to ensure IT risks are minimized

Key Result Areas:
The role is composed of a variety of activities, including technical, operational and strategic activities in support of IT and security program initiatives, such as:
• Manage and Maintain Information Security Solution e.g. SIEM, IDP, ATP, Firewall, Endpoint, Patch Management, Data Classification
• Analyzing and assessing vulnerabilities in the infrastructure (software, hardware, and networks), investigating available tools and countermeasures to remedy the detected vulnerabilities.
• Setting up and implementing user access controls and identity and access management systems
• Identifying potential weaknesses and implement measures
• Monitoring identity and access management, including monitoring for abuse of permissions by authorized system users
• Analyse, Monitor, Review and Correlate Log of Server, Network and Security Device Monitor Incident Management
• Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training for the Bank staff
• Proactively Report, Resolve and Remediation of any Information Security incident or violation Conduct Information Technology Risk Assessment
• Maintain Information Security System Document
• Provide consultation or guidance of Information Security to other Business Unit
• Perform Compliance Monitoring of Information Security Asset and Information Security Activities
• Work with IT and security on projects that address identified risks and business security requirements.
• Monitor and report on compliance with security policies, as well as, the enforcement of policies within the IT department.
• Propose changes to existing policies and procedures to ensure operating efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership and coaching for IT and security team members
• Assist resource owners and IT staff in understanding and responding to security audit failures reported by auditors.
• Manage production issues and incidents, and participate in problem and change management forums.
• Serve as an active and consistent participant in the information security governance process.
• Provide support and guidance for legal and regulatory compliance efforts, including audit support.
• Measure and report on the technical aspects of security management.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of threat and vulnerability management, identify risk tolerances, recommend treatment plans and communicate information about residual risk.
• Manage security projects and provide expert guidance on security matters for other IT projects.
• Assist and guide the disaster recovery planning team in the selection of recovery strategies and the development, testing and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure audit trails, system logs and other monitoring data sources are reviewed periodically and are in compliance with policies and audit requirements.
• Design, coordinate and oversee security testing procedures to verify the security of systems, networks and applications, and manage the remediation of identified risks.

Internal control and regulatory policies, procedures and systems compliance
• Communicate clear operations policies, guidelines and procedures to staff
• Ensure high level of knowledge of risk management systems by staff
• Ensure that all functions and activities are in compliance with legislations, regulations and internal control policies and procedures
• Implement and monitor security and fraud precautions to protect customer deposits, bank assets and staff
• Ensures that the unannounced IT audits are done

Risk Management and Compliance:
• Identify risk factors and establish frameworks to mitigate risk in the Department making sure there is a faster mechanism in place to enable quick and early detection and escalation of issues when they arise.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, BOU regulations, budget parameters, and procedures and the risk management framework operational within the Bank.
• Responsible for closure of audit, risk and BOU findings /reports, and helping resolve issues raised as well as ensuring no repeat findings.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• University degree in IT related field.
• Certifications in CISM, CISSP and security+
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in banking/ICT operations
• Must possess a Credit pass in Maths and English at ‘O’ Level
• Relevant professional qualifications in microfinance, banking, finance provide added advantage
