Job Description
Beneficiary Caretaker Grade – Dependent on Experience Location – Jinja Imprint Hope Imprint Hope (IH) works to eliminate the neglect, abuse, abandonment and death of children with disabilities in Uganda by educating communities on childhood disability, providing medical and rehabilitative services to the children affected, and educating and empowering caretakers to care for their child and earn a living wage for their families. The goal of Imprint Hope is to educate and empower families to see their child with a disability as a gift. We envision a world where all children with disabilities are appreciated for their unique talents and provided an opportunity to actualize their full potential. Imprint Hope’s operations are based at our rehabilitation and education center and main office in Masese, Jinja. Position Overview The Beneficiary Caretaker position requires empathy, leadership, and interpersonal strengths in order to support children with disabilities and their families at IH’s Center. As a key member of our team, you will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day care and well-being of our beneficiaries at the Imprint Hope Center. This includes ensuring each child and caregiver has the necessary supplies, receives their meals on time, follows the evening schedule, and feels safe, seen, and supported. You'll collaborate closely with our operations team to maintain an organized and respectful environment for all. When complex situations arise, you’ll refer cases to our medical or psychosocial staff for additional support. This position is essential in creating a welcoming and compassionate space—one where each child and family feels understood, valued, and well cared for. Demonstrate empathy, care and concern for IH’s beneficiaries at all times. Holds self and others accountable to IH values, principles, and policies without exception. Ensures strong stewardship of resources and assets.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all beneficiaries at Imprint Hope’s Center have the necessary supplies and materials they require during their stay. - Keep a daily account of supplies/materials received and given out.
- Report any feeding and dietary needs to the operational manager of beneficiaries.
- Ensure beneficiaries follow Center timetable in the evenings and on weekends.
- Work closely with the IH operations manager to ensure all supplies are adequately stocked.
- In case of any type of emergency, immediately report to IH Operational Manager, and manage the situation appropriately. - Exemplify hospitality and ensure all beneficiaries feel welcomed.
- Proactively report any maintenance needs, security concerns, etc. to the appropriate IH operations manager.
- Report to nursing staff any medical, nutritional, or other needs of beneficiaries in residence.
- Adhere to guest policy and ensure all beneficiaries who exit the compound fill out necessary paperwork. Other Requirements The position requires residence on Imprint Hope’s compound nightly from 5PM to 8AM.
- This position is expected to be resident for most of Sat/Sun day hours (this weekend schedule can be negotiated to provide breaks).
- Housing is provided by IH on site.
- Expected Education and Experience Secondary School (A-level) diploma required.
- University diploma is an advantage.
- Strong experience may substitute for education.
- Training in organization skills.
- Experience working with families and children from challenging background.
- Experience with rural or highly vulnerable populations is a plus.
- Fluent English and Luganda speaker. Basic English-writing skills (ability to write basic sentences and paragraphs for emails, reports etc).
- Basic computer skills (typing, word processing, spreadsheets) are an advantage Experience working with or knowledge about persons with disabilities is a plus.
- Personal Skills Empathetic and compassionate Passion and commitment to serve the most vulnerable populations, especially people with disabilities Exceptional Integrity and ability to hold self and others accountable to IH values and policies/procedures without exception Critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills Strong oral communication and training skills Ability to manage stress, prioritize, and handle multiple responsibilities
