JOB DETAILS:
We are hiring a full time (40 hours per week) Information Technology Director to join our fast-paced, results-oriented team focused on fueling our scale up. The Information Technology Director will report to the Chief Financial Officer and partner closely with all members of the StrongMinds team. The successful applicant will lead the organization's information technology function, including strategy, planning, project management, operations, and business solutions delivery. You will provide technology vision and leadership for deploying IT initiatives that improve cost-effectiveness, compliance, and security. The Information Technology Director will play a critical role in ensuring the security and reliability of the organization's technology systems and in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the effective use of technology within the organization. Responsibilities include implementing systems to support business needs, communication and support of users, staff supervision, and the management of daily production and operations. Additionally, the Information Technology Director will often act as a liaison between the IT department and other departments and stakeholders, such as senior management, to ensure that IT initiatives align with overall organizational goals.

Responsibilities
1. Lead the organization's information technology including strategy, planning, project management, operations, including data management, and business solutions delivery.
2. Provide technology vision and leadership for deploying IT initiatives, ranging from streamlining data collection to improving internal communications as well as leading the organization towards system integration, that enhance cost effectiveness, compliance, and security.
3. Implement systems, utilizing internal IT staff and external consultants, to support business needs, communication and support of users, staff supervision, and the management of daily operations.
4. Manage all IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, including managing and monitoring IT service level agreements (SLAs) and service level objectives (SLOs)
5. Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of software and technology solutions, including development, testing, and deployment.
6. Ensure that the technology needs of the 200+ person staff plus thousands of volunteers in Africa and the U.S. are comprehensively supported.
7. Partner with peers responsible for the data, analytics, and program delivery functions to analyze business requirements and improve systems to meet the needs of the business. Accountable for the corporate IT function, including management of core IT operations, HR and financial systems, service desk, networking and facilities, hardware management, project management, and IT compliance with all laws and regulations.
8. Manage the IT asset inventory and ensure that all IT assets are properly tracked, maintained, and disposed of as necessary.
9. Ensure that technical operational problems are resolved in a timely manner, by supervising the IT support staff and ensuring that all support requests are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
10. Set the strategy and technical roadmap for the department, planning investments and improvements. Responsible for driving the KPIs for the IT function.
11. Develop the annual information technology budget and make sure that the information technology function operates within that budget and report out monthly on budget versus actual.
12. Reduce costs through efficient internal operations, well-rationalized investment, and business enablement.
13. Manage all information technology related contracts and work with vendors to secure optimal pricing; responsible for requisitions put before the procurement committee.
14. Ensure high security and performance of the information technology infrastructure by conducting regular IT audits and reviews to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
15. Build the IT team and manage performance by providing technical guidance and direction, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and training to perform their duties effectively and comply with international information technology standards and guidelines, as well as providing feedback, and coaching as necessary and creating a team culture that drives towards transparency and accountability.
16. Ensure that all IT policies and disaster recovery plans remain current, are in line with the organizations strategy and industry best practices and have been disseminated with any requisite training to appropriate staff.
17. Regularly evaluate information technology-related risks facing the organization, develop action plans to mitigate those risks, and be accountable for the implementation of risk mitigation activities.

Educations, Experience, Skills & Abilities Required:
1. Bachelor's degree in information technology, master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 10 years of broad information technology experience covering hardware, software development, cloud, cybersecurity, business intelligence, and networking; 5 years of prior IT leadership experience.
3. Experience in a start-up or growth orientated organization is a plus.
4. Experience leveraging technology in the healthcare industry is a plus.
5. Curiosity and strong problem-solving skills.
6. Extremely detail oriented and able to keep track of multiple tasks and issues in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
7. Excellent project management and prioritization skills without compromising on quality.
8. Ability to work across geographic and functional lines to collaborate; cross-border experience is a plus.
9. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to synthesize important information efficiently and effectively and ability to convey technology issues to non-technical colleagues. Strong interest in the non-profit sector, mental health and more specifically the mission of Strong Minds.
