Inspecta Africa, a leading provider of inspection and maintenance services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects in the oil and gas industry and related fields.
Qualification:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry or related fields.
Technical Skills:
• Proficient in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting various types of instrumentation systems, including control valves, transmitters, sensors, and PLC/DCS systems.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to instrumentation, such as ISA, IEC, and NEC.
• Experience in interpreting and working with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for instrumentation design and implementation.
• Familiarity with process control systems, data acquisition systems, and SCADA systems.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications in instrumentation or process control systems.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the project team to understand instrumentation requirements and specifications, as defined in P&IDs.
• Design and select appropriate instrumentation equipment for the project based on P&IDs.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation systems, ensuring alignment with P&IDs.
• Interpret P&IDs to identify instrument locations, process connections, and control system integration points.
• Conduct inspections and perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to instrumentation systems, considering their representation on P&IDs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the project team as needed, considering the information presented in P&IDs.
