JOB DETAILS:
Job Description:
• Develop risk notes in response to clients’ proposals (orders).
• Sourcing extra benefits to improve company’s scope of benefits for each risk note.
• Liaising with insurers to determine the re-insurance treaty limits for each class of insurance for which the insurer is licensed.
• To ensure that each policy issued by the insurer has incorporated all the benefits listed within the company’s risk note.
• To study conditions and exclusions of each policy before its issued by the insurer so as to negotiate exceptions where possible.
• To develop summaries for each policy issued by the insurer clearly listing the risks covered, the benefits as well as their limits, the condition, exclusions, and warranties.
• To maintain Underwriting register.
• To review and improve Underwriting manual so as to ensure that it’s appropriate and relevant for execution of the company’s Underwriting processes.
• To ensure strict and consistent record keeping of Underwriting files. (Both hard & soft copy).
• To review existing service level agreements and ensure the introduction of service level agreements were the same maybe nonexistent with insurers that the company works with.
• To liaise with the business development team, ensure that requests for bids or quotes are properly communicated to the Underwriting team.
• To develop and ensure strict adherence to agreed timelines for each bid and quote that’s due for delivery to each prospect or client.
• To follow up with the business development team for feedback on quotes and risk notes developed by the underwriting team.
• To organize and attend Underwriting and claims related meetings.
• To perform any other duties, roles, tasks etc., including but not limited to administrative duties as may be required and or assigned.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field
• No experience required
• Knowledge of insurance policies, underwriting principles, and risk assessment.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to review and assess complex documents.
• Proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality
