About Water Journalists Africa
Water Journalists Africa is a not-for-profit media organisation founded in 2011 that has a membership of journalists reporting on water, climate change, and wildlife in 50 countries across the African continent.
Water Journalists Africa is implementing a flagship project called InfoNile, a geojournalism project and cross-border network of more than 800 water and environmental journalists in the Nile Basin, founded in 2017. It uses data journalism and multimedia formats to shed light on water and climate change crises and working solutions. Its approach involves identifying cross-border water and climate change data and stories, training and mentoring journalists in environment, data, and science journalism, and supporting journalists to produce in-depth investigative stories.

InfoNile links journalists and scientists to report cross-border investigations and maps published in various media outlets in the 5 Nile Basin languages.

Water Journalists Africa’s newest project, the Apes Reporting Project, was founded in 2020.
