JOB DETAILS:
Role Description:
1. Oversee consultation, application, and study support for Ashinaga Africa Initiative Candidates.
2. Interface with students regarding their future plans, subject of study in overseas universities and university applications.
3. Facilitate the operation of the Preparation Year for all students.
4. Contribute to the development of innovative and evidence-based curricula and optimized course scheduling.
5. Assist the management of service providers who support the delivery of Ashinaga Uganda’s activities.
6. Support the collection, entry and analysis of academic and leadership-related data collected across the year.
7. Assist management in the growth and development of program strategy and delivery.
8. Recruiting and supervising interns as required.
9. Providing support with marketing, promotion and fundraising as required.
10. Support with all student and organization-related administration.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree.
2. Master’s Degree (preferred for renewal of contract).
3. Experience studying in Brazil.
4. Experience with ENEM vestibular and Celpe-Bras exam.
5. Degree in education, African Studies, International Development, or related degrees.
Experience
1. Can speak, write, and read Portuguese and English fluently.
2. 1-3 years’ work experience for a similar organization.
3. Experience leading a team in a professional setting.
4. Experience with clerical desk work and following strict administrative procedures.
5. Experience in tutoring or teaching.
6. A track record of meeting tight deadlines and balancing several tasks.
Skills and Abilities
1. Excellent communication, verbal and written, skills.
2. Advanced with Microsoft Office Suite (this will be tested).
3. Japanese or French proficiency (this will be tested if listed).
4. Experience with social media, photography, videography, marketing, fundraising and partnerships.
Qualities and Characteristics
1. Demonstrable interest in youth empowerment and education.
2. Ability to multi-task and manage concurrent timelines.
3. Proactive and positive attitude - a collaborative team player.
4. Critical thinker - unafraid to tackle complex issues.
