Position Overview
Sanlam Investments East Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Investments Analyst to join its Investments Department. The role involves conducting in-depth financial analysis, supporting investment decisions, and contributing to the overall success of the organization’s investment strategy. Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Analysis:
o Perform thorough analysis of financial markets, economic trends, and potential investment opportunities.
o Evaluate performance and risks of various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
o Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings and recommendations.
2. Investment Strategy Support:
o Collaborate with portfolio managers to develop and refine investment strategies.
o Monitor existing investments and recommend portfolio adjustments to optimize returns.
o Conduct benchmarking against market performance and peer group analysis.
3. Data Management:
o Maintain accurate records of financial data and investment portfolios.
o Use financial modeling tools to project returns, assess risks, and analyze performance scenarios.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Provide insights and updates to internal teams and clients on investment trends and portfolio performance.
o Assist in preparing investment proposals and materials for client presentations.
5. Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure all investments comply with relevant financial and regulatory requirements set by the Capital Markets Authority and the Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Authority (URBRA).

Qualifications and Skills
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• A professional qualification such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), ACCA, or CPA will be an added advantage.
Experience:
• 2–5 years of experience in investment analysis, portfolio management, or financial research.
• Familiarity with financial markets in East Africa is a plus.
Skills:
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling software.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
