PEAS is an international education not-for-profit organisation with the mission to 'expand access to sustainably delivered, quality secondary education across Africa'.

Since 2008, PEAS has built and operated high quality low- cost not-for-profit secondary schools in close partnership with government in communities where there is urgent unmet demand for secondary education. We currently run 30 secondary schools in Uganda serving over 13,500 students. We focus on four main themes, including: Access to education; provision of quality education; ensuring schools are sustainable and improving the education system.

PEAS prepares consolidated financial statements for the Country program including the schools. In addition to the locally generated revenue at the respective schools, PEAS is supported by Partners like FCDO, Laura Case, COSTA Foundation, MTN Uganda Foundation, Waterloo, COINS Foundation among others:

Objective of the Audit

The objective of the audit is to enable the auditor to express an independent professional opinion on:

i. Whether the consolidated financial position at the end of the reporting period and of the funds received and expenditures for the reporting period, are presented fairly in all material respects in accordance with the applicable accounting framework.

ii. Whether the financial records reflect the financial transactions incurred by the program during the reporting period.

iii. Whether the transactions conform to the policy guidelines and the regulation requirements

Key Specifications and Profile of the Firm

To undertake this assignment, the Audit firm is expected inter alia to possess the following core competencies

• Adhere to professional auditing standards as adopted in Uganda and internationally

Demonstrate staff capacity to speedily undertake the audit assignment and have sound knowledge of the INGO accounting and issues of non-complex project implementation and currency conversions.

Knowledge of NGO sector operation and provide at least three references from a recognized INGO operating in Uganda for which similar services have been offered.

• Professional conduct by its staff at all times and willing to adhere to PEAS values, and code of conduct and other core principles
• Competitive cost or fees.

Tender/ Bid Specifications

All interested audit firms are expected to send an expression of interest by December 7th, 2022, be able to carry out and complete the Audit between February 1st and April 30th, 2023.

The proposal should clearly state as a minimum the Key Specifications and Profile requirements listed and including. a) The audit fee and payment terms.

b) Firm's competency and staff profile, capacity and at least 3 INGO referees.

c) Company Registration, up to date tax and other statutory compliance certificates.
