Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our client Mr. Green Africa (MGA), we are looking for competent, skilled and experienced Junior Maintenance Technician to work in Uganda.

Job Purpose: Responsible for overseeing and conducting operations of all machines present in the Factory. These are specific but not limited to; sorting line, PO washing line, Boiler, Air Compressor, Chiller, Pelletizer, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Crushers and Baler. Taking responsibility for all line settings and standardization across the shift. The incumbent will also carry out mechanical engineering work to ensure equipment reliability and availability are continuously improved, planned production schedules are met and maintenance costs are reduced, by undertaking planned breakdown and opportunity maintenance within specified time limits to achieve optimal plant reliability and availability.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure their relevance.
• Oversee calibration check of scale accuracy at the beginning of each work shift.
• Oversee plant operations.
• Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.
• Oversee and perform preventive and breakdown maintenance
• Perform and supervise general housekeeping.
• To monitor and maintain safe working standards within the team and high product quality standards, and taking appropriate action
• Identify process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance.
• Observe gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Replenish inventory as needed.
• Actively seek continuous improvement opportunities in their area in regards to safety, quality, cost savings and general standards
• Work in a proactive way with the production department to improve overall equipment effectiveness
• Achieve KPIs and scorecards for designated functions in line with the MGA Way.
• To take responsibility for identifying and arranging the training of operatives in all of the machinery/ process knowledge in their area.
• Apply Lean principles and techniques.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Diploma/Certificate in mechatronic/mechanical/Electrical Engineering is ideal
• Degree in Mechatronic/mechanical Engineering is an added advantage.
• 2 years of production management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of technical processes related to plastic recycling
