JOB DETAILS:

Position
The laboratory manager will be tasked with managing laboratory operations, including setting and maintaining laboratory quality and safety standards and equipment. The lab manager will ensure that industry standards and safety regulations are followed consistently. .

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversight and leadership on departmental planning, policies and procedures
• Quality Management; develop quality manual and maintain standard operating procedures
• Result Management; prepare timely and accurate test results according to protocols mandated by MOH
• Continuously assess new analytic techniques for adaptation
• Conduct research and experiments at a cellular and molecular level.
• Observe and comply with environmental health and occupational safety measures to ensure maintenance of high hygiene standards in the work area
• Participate in both clinical and subject audits including investigation of non-compliances, identifying of preventative and corrective measures
• Staff Management; create duty rotas and performance management system for staff
• Maintain archive system for all laboratory information

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant positions with excellence in laboratory knowledge and management
• University degree (preferably master's degree) in Medical Laboratory Technology/Molecular biology from a recognized institute.
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System.
• Sound knowledge of sample analysis software and technology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, English (.e. fluency in English is a pre-requisite).
• Target-driven and achievement oriented management style
