We use videos are a key aspect of our work, by illustrating the impacts we have on our beneficiaries and their communities. We are looking for a strong leader to manage both the people and operations of our media production team. The ideal candidate will have a professional background in both leadership and video production with at least three years of experience.

Responsibilities
Managing a small team of junior videographers by mentoring and directing them in all of the processes below:

  • Leading by example to produce videos that reflect the work and values of Sawa World
  • Producing short documentary films and vlogs (i.e., impact videos) for internal use and for clients. This will also include taking high quality still photos.
  • Maintaining a highly professional line of communication with clients throughout the production process and meeting the deadline.
  • Storytelling and concept planning coordination
  • Filming and interviewing with beneficiaries, clients and team members
  • Post-production editing, including but not limited to sound, subtitles, and visuals
  • High proficiency in writing subtitles that are free of grammar and spelling mistakes and in proper English
  • Maintaining the care of all media equipment, including inventory management and supervision
  • Researching new techniques related to film production and photography and sharing these with the team.
  • Communicating with our media support team in Canada when needed
  • We're a small team, so your responsibilities may sometimes extend beyond video production. You must be the kind of person who will support your teammates despite your position.
