JOB OVERVIEW
The Learning and Community Associate is responsible for the development of entrepreneurship content for our learners in both the online business academy and accelerator. The primary objective is to ensure that learning content is packaged well, meets the needs of our learners, and is also relevant based on market opportunities. You are expected to understand SME needs based on outcomes of due diligence, refine or work with other partners to develop the necessary learning content (if necessary) based on learnings, and undertake validation exercises with the young people to ensure that it is relevant and accessible and thereafter ensure that the learning management system is updated.
What does success look like?
• At least every entrepreneur who undertakes the pre-accelerator completes it with a good understanding of the aspects of what it takes to build a scalable business model (outcomes). At least every entrepreneur in the accelerator is able to fully utilize the online learning content to address gaps and leverage market opportunities in their business
• The feedback from entrepreneurs who have utilized the content provides good feedback on its relevance and viability. Investors who interface with the entrepreneurs report that our participants are investment-ready based on the material shared.
• The pipeline of learners gets to complete the online learning content and qualify for follow-on opportunities.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Understand SME needs: The candidate takes a keen interest in the gaps identified within the businesses supported and market opportunities by engaging with the knowledge and learning specialist and other strategic partners on a regular basis.
• Identification of partners: The candidate will collaborate with the partnership lead to identify and work with any partners that could support the development or syndication of content based on their industry experience
• Content development and curation: You will support the development of content into various formats by coordinating with any external content partners or internal stakeholders based on internal knowledge products. You will further refine any content based on learnings to ensure it continuously meets the needs of our entrepreneur learners. This will include curriculum and content for our pre-accelerator and accelerator
• Community support: You will work to support the team to strengthen our community of entrepreneurs most especially the online business academy of the initiative by using various methods that include hosting learning labs, conferences, speaker sessions, meetings, and responding to inquiries to keep the entrepreneurs engaged.
• Recruitment: Support with monitoring of enterprise learning progress and related outcomes with the goal of driving a good quality pipeline into the various phases of the Hi-innovator initiative for further support
• Any other duties assigned
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SELECTION CRITERIA
Technical Skills
• Bachelor's Degree in business, education, social sciences, human resource or equivalent;
• At least 3 years of experience in entrepreneurship or mSME support
• Strong communication (written and oral) and documentation skills; demonstrated knowledge of English and editing skills
• Knowledge of adult instructional design approaches
• Effective presentation and facilitation skills

• Enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and mSMEs
• Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, including the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
• Proven ability to listen and learn from feedback shared, while collaborating with others to achieve common objectives
• Highly motivated, independent, and committed to the highest ethical standards
• Analytical and data-driven, you enjoy using logic to identify alternatives, evaluate, and present approaches to solving complex problems, as well as brainstorming creative methods for problem-solving
• Genuine commitment to sustainable development goals
• Willingness to travel extensively around Uganda
