JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
Conduct research, publish, supervise and carry out other academic activities as a contribution to the Academic growth of the University

Key, Duties and Responsibilities
• Participate in development of subject librarians in the different disciplines;
• Write library projects and writing periodic project reports;
• Implement related projects and ensure that targets are adhered to;
• Mentor Junior library staff;
• Conduct academic research in Library related subject area;
• Contribute to growth of the profession and discipline working hand in with the library research and ethics committee;
• Participate in academic teaching and contribute to designing relevant course content/curriculum review;
• Provide secretariat services to the library and ethics committee;
• Perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
• Must have PhD in Library and Information Science or Information Systems or Information Technology from a recognized institution;
• Masters degree in Library and Information Science(LIS) or Information Systems or Informatiion Technology from a recognized institution;
• Honour's Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science (LIS) or Information Systems or Information Technology from a recognized institution.

Experience
Should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant professional working experience from a reputable Education institution

Skills/Competences
• Should have effective communication skills;
• Proficient in computer systems including use of thee-mail and the Internet;
• Integrity;
• Ability to work in teams;
• Quick judgement and decision making;
• Ability to initiate change
