JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
As the Manager of Litigation, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of litigation while supporting debt recovery. You will lead a dynamic team, ensuring seamless operations, adherence to legal procedures, and successful litigation processes. Integrity, good analytical skills and a keen understanding of the court processes are paramount in this role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure proper case management
• Ensure litigation processes adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve pleadings and other legal documents prepared by the team.
• Interact with clients and update them on the portfolio of cases.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure effective communication and understanding of case status.
• Prepare well-reasoned legal opinions on cases and strategies.
• File necessary documents with courts and regulatory bodies.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for effective debt recovery and litigation processes.
• Manage and lead a team of litigation associates, providing mentorship and guidance.
• Conduct regular team meetings to discuss cases, progress, and address challenges.
• Provide guidance on legal strategies to maximize success in the cases being handled
• Develop training programs for the team to enhance legal and debt recovery skills.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Law
• Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice;
• Should be an enrolled advocate of the High Court with a valid practicing certificate for at least 10 years.
• Proven experience in managing a litigation team in a commercial setting.
• In-depth knowledge of court processes, secured loans and debt recovery processes.
