JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the Consultancy:
The Consultant will serve as the Livestock Specialist as part of the team carrying out this consultancy. You will be responsible providing substantive technical input on proposed livestock development-related components. This relates to the design, oversight, coordination, quality assurance, and monitoring of the LIP’s performance and delivery related to livestock.

Deliverables:
• Review relevant project information shared by Montrose and keep updated with the wider social investment activities within the scope of the livelihoods restoration (LR) programme - specifically linked to livestock improvement.
• The Consultant will be required to flag up any risks to project implementation related to changes in selected livestock enterprises and propose appropriate mitigation measures for sharing with Montrose, LIPs, and PAPs accordingly.
• Understand the expectations and proposed relationships with core personnel in Montrose, and Local Implementing Partners (LIPs) and other stakeholders on the project.
• Understand the expectations and deliverables of the Livestock Specialist role and how they complement the other technical specialities within the project for the lifetime of the project.
• Take part in ad hoc meetings and workshops facilitated by Montrose with the other technical specialists.
• Attending regular meetings with the other technical specialists organised by Montrose on project implementation and delivery as required.
• Ensure that all communication to Partners is managed through / in agreement with Montrose.
• Provide real-time support and troubleshooting to the field teams, ensuring that you are available to respond to the project needs in a timely manner.
• Prepare high quality training manuals using the Montrose style guide/format, according to the required topics using scope of work for livestock, international standards, and guidelines.
• Conduct field visits to deliver training and prepare a detailed field report following visits.
