Bulijjo Credit Limited is a micro-finance company serving MSMEs and individuals in the Greater Kampala metropolitan area. Bulijjo offers a range of short term business loans, salary loans and secured loans to support clients with cash flow needs, investments and emergencies. About the role:
Bulijjo Credit Limited is looking for a proactive, organized, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Loans Officer. This full-time position is ideal for someone with experience in financial services, exceptional sales skills, and a proven track record in managing the lending cycle, including loan recovery. This role is based at our office in Kampala CBD and offers the chance to contribute to an expanding and innovative financial services company.

Key Responsibilities
1. Loan Portfolio Management and Recovery (60%)
a) Oversee an assigned loan portfolio throughout the entire lending cycle, including client acquisition, onboarding, due diligence, credit issuance, follow-up, and recovery. Ensure efficient management of all stages to maximize portfolio performance.
b) Continuously track payments, engage with clients throughout the repayment period, and ensure that loas are repaid on time and in full according to the agreed repaymentplans.
c) Actively support the recovery of non-performing loans in collaboration with the
Operations Manager and Recovery Agents, employing effective strategies to minimize defaults and enhance recovery rates.
2. Client Engagement and Sales (25%)
a) Proactively promote and market loan products to potential clients, aiming to meet and exceed monthly sales targets.
b) Develop strategies to attract new clients and expand the company’s market presence.
c) Ensure that all clients fully understand the terms and conditions of their loans before disbursement. Provide comprehensive explanations and answer any queries to facilitate informed decision-making.
3. Administrative and Support Functions (15%)
a) Assist the Operations Manager and Accountant with client due diligence and onboarding processes.
b) Support the Bookkeeper with daily record-keeping, including updating and maintaining the client folders to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications
Minimum diploma level in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field

Skills & experience
• At least two years of experience in a customer-facing role within the credit and lending sector
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and grow a portfolio
• Demonstrable experience in credit management, due diligence, and loan recovery
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage workload effectively

Remuneration
The salary range will be between UGX 600,000 and UGX 1,000,000, depending on the candidate's experience and practical skills.
