JOB DETAILS:

JOB ROLE/ PURPOSE:
Support in appraising, processing and recovery of SACCO loans in order to enhance portfolio growth and quality in line with the established policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES
1. Process client loan applications to ensure timely support and fulfillment of personal financial needs
1. Receive and maintain proper loan clients register.
2. Mobilize and enroll potential customers for various loan products available at the institution.
3. Appraise/screen potential loan applicants and present their requests to the various loan committees at different levels.
4. Keep proper records of clients’ loan security documents.
5. Carefully study the client’s character, credit history and present income, to establish his or her ability to repay the loan.


2. Maintain portfolio quality by ensuring effective recovery practices and risk management mechanism
1. Monitoring of the loan portfolio to maintain Portfolio at Risk at less than 2%
2. Arrange and ensure that disbursed loans are recovered as per the set repayment schedules.
3. Assist in the impact evaluation of clients and their performance as a result of using SACCO Loans.
4. Actively participate in periodic performance reviews of URA SACCO.
5. Submit periodic reports to immediate supervisors and Management as may be required.

3. Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure implementation of set service standards
1. Provide adequate financial knowledge to customers and cross all institutions products.
2. Manage and stimulate customer relationship to boost savings mobilization.
3. Identify, enroll and train clients following the Institution’s training policies and procedures.

4. Contribute to the optimal utilization of the SACCO’s resources to ensure maximum benefits to its members
1. To actively participate in the URA SACCO budgeting process.
2. Prepare portfolio reports on specified dates.
3. Participate in weekly, monthly and annual planning meetings.
4. Create and implement work plans to facilitate the realization of the URA SACCO business growth.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
1. The ideal applicant must hold a degree in Microfinance, Business Administration, Development Studies, social sciences or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution.

2. Desirable Professional membership from relevant bodies

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Experience
1. At least 2 years working experience in a busy Banking environment or SACCO
2. Prior experience in marketing, communications and public relations is an added advantage.



Knowledge
1. Computer literate with skills in MS SUITE (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
2. Officer of high caliber, dedication, and integrity
3. High levels of numeric, written, and verbal communication skills and business acumen
4. Capacity to meet tight deadlines with efficiency
