Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Purpose:
The Incumbent is responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery. Through experience he observes machine conditions and oversee routine maintenance and organize repairs. S/he plays a vital role in the efficiency, development and progress of manufacturing and processing industries through planning order and being thorough in procuring required items.

Responsibilities.
• Designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods;
• Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults;
• Diagnosing breakdown problems;
• Carrying out quality/maintenance inspections on jobs;
• Liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues;
• Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment;
• Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs;
• Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs;
• Improving health and safety policies and procedures;
• Writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines;
• Ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.

Qualifications and Experience
• Eight to ten years of experience in plant maintenance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field required, master’s degree in related field is an added advantage.
• Registration with a professional association is an added advantage
