Position: Management Accountant

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for Management Accountant. The position holder will report to the Chief Finance Officer and will be based at the Head Office in Kampala, Uganda.

Main Responsibilities
1) Analyzing key financial data and advising senior management on strategic planning.
2) Developing and implementing cost-effective financial policies and procedures.
3) Preparing financial reports and budgets, as well as controlling and forecasting income and expenditure.
4) Overseeing accounting procedures and supervising the junior financial department staff.
5) Monitoring auditing and taxation practices, as well as evaluating benefits and compensation packages.
6) Ensuring that financial management policies and procedures adhere to regulatory standards.

Required Job skills
1. Proven experience as management accountant, audit environment or similar role.
2. Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices.
3. Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
4. Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office.
5. Analytical mind with aptitude in math.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications
1. 1.An undergraduate degree in Commerce/Economics/ Finance and Mathematics-related course from a recognized university.
2. 2.A Masters' Degree in a Finance related course will be an added advantage.
3. Must have ACCA/CPA qualification and membership.
4. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and packages

Relevant Experience
1. A minimum of 4 years working experience in life insurance (covering, Corporate Business, Pensions)
